Tyga, Goddamn - Analysis

The general purpose of a music video is to give a message to the audience, entertain and the main purpose of music videos is to promote artists and bands, as well as the track.
The music video is mainly set in a cowboy bar. As soon as the beat drops Tyga burst through the saloon doors.
The song essentially talks about sex and money. This is evident by the flash of money, the diamond chains and the bright yellow Lamborghini.
The music video further appeals to the audience as it has its own dance moves that go with the following lyrics:
"Slide to the left, slide to the left
Take a lil' step, ay, slide to the left (slide)
Slide to the right, slide to the right "

Rihanna, Diamonds - Analysis

Unlike conventional music videos the music does not start to play right away instead there's a series of shots showing Rihanna smoking a cigarette full of diamonds, and in a pool of water which has been made to look like crystal, this immediately signifies that this is a high budget music video.  Rihanna has presented herself as a strong influential young woman in this video revealing that her target audience leans more towards 18-25. The song is slow at the beginning however starts to get more upbeat as the camera focuses on her but mainly on her voice as we are met with various shots that do not feature Rihanna. The music video also features a cold and a warm fiery side to Rihanna as parts of the         mise-en-secne colder tones in lighting and a blue background to further enhance this. Warmer light and images of roses burning resembling passion.                             ...

Adele, Someone Like You - Analysis

- The whole music video is filmed in an old black and white style. - The music video starts with a medium close up of her face. - At first the artist does not make eye contact with the camera perhaps reflecting her emotions of loneliness and heartache. - We understand that Adele is feeling emotions of heartbreak closer to the end when we see a man walking away from her. - The music video is filmed in Paris, we recognise this when the camera pans the surroundings, this creates an element of irony as Paris is known as the city of love yet Adele is singing about heartbreak in the centre of the city. - Emotions of loneliness are highlighted further as no one is seen in the big city. - There are many close ups and extreme close ups throughout the video which allows the audience to fully see her emotions and allows Adele to draw in the audience emotionally by making direct eye contact with the camera.
